Millionaires
Los Angeles, CA
Label - Unsigned

Melissa Marie, Allison Wonderland and Danigore make up the wicked fierce LA trio Millionaires. I’m a sucker for all female bands to begin and Millionaires is no exception. Add raw but well orchestrated Club tracks and equally hard driving lyrics (just check out ‘Hoe Down’ and ‘Talk Shit’ if you don’t believe me) and its no wonder they have a pretty substantial fan base. Personally I liked ‘I Like Money’ but got hooked on these chicks on ‘Alcohol’. Check out their video here at Fierce.com.

Captured In Chinatown

Thanks Sick Rose from Las Bandidas Del Arte and keyboardist for Captured in China Town for the intro to yet another great band. Immediately heard the Green Day inspiration in ‘After Dark’, a well crafted, up-tempo track. Really, really liked ‘Does Not Compute’. This is a well rounded, talented band with a consistently good sound. Killer vocals are the tipping point for me and Adam has serious skills and range. Get their album ‘Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things’ at Blast My Music.

Polaroid Kiss
Salt Lake City, UT
Label - Indie

One part Electro/Shoegaze and equal part Emo/Folk and the result is unquestionably Polaroid Kiss the ultra creative collaboration between Brandun Reed and Tom Bennett. I was introduced to these guys via ‘Love In Transition’, a trancey tune with a write-in-your-diary message..’so are you giving up, i’m not giving up and if you give it up i’ll give it all i’ve got. love in transition’. Unprepared but defnitley pleased with ‘White Lies and White Lines’, a thumpy, House/Rock cut. Got lost in the moment for a much needed break today with the instrumental ‘Last Breath’. According to their site they’re smack in the middle of mixing their debut album which I’m eagerly anticipating.

Erick E
Amsterdam/Netherlands
Label - Spinnin’/R&G Electronics/Tiger/Gusto/Rootz

I’m beginning to think the Dutch have cornered the DJ market. Last month we delivered on DJ Tiesto and now we bring you the equally talented Erick E. Hailing from Amsterdam, Erick E began his career in 1986 as a Hip/Hop DJ and in three short years won the Dutch DMC Champoinship. This guy has an impressive background, accomplishments and collaborators (he’s worked with the likes of Deep Dish, David Morales and Felix Da Housecat). I’m hoping someone can post a comment of where I can getmy hands on this cats music for my iPod cuz I just can’t find it anywhere. In the meantime check out the HouseQuake official dvd preview (BLM 09-2) ftr Erike E..hot stuff, I have to get here at some point.
